This Privacy Policy describes how the XWX AI Chat Exporter browser extension ('the Extension') collects, uses, stores, and shares your data. 1. DATA WE COLLECT 1.1 Data Collected by the Extension: - Chat Content: The Extension reads conversation content (text, images, charts, widgets) from supported AI chat platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot, Perplexity, GitHub Copilot, Google AI Studio, Kimi, Yuanbao, NotebookLM) solely to enable export functionality. This is done via content scripts injected only on those specific domains. - Export Settings: Your preferred export format, theme, folder settings, and Pro license status are stored locally using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device. - Notion Authentication Cookies: When you use the 'Export to Notion' feature, the Extension reads your Notion authentication cookies (including notion_user_id) from www.notion.so to authenticate API requests on your behalf. These cookies are used only for the active Notion export session and are not stored by the Extension. 1.2 Data Sent to Our Server: - PDF Generation: For Pro users, the full conversation HTML (including text and base64-encoded images) is sent via HTTPS to our secure PDF generation server (our backend API). This is required because client-side libraries cannot preserve syntax-highlighted code blocks, tables, math formulas, and complex layouts in PDF output. - Advanced Export Processing (Word, Notion): For Pro users, Word document generation and Notion workspace export also use server-side processing for enhanced formatting, chart rendering, and API integration. These features have usage limits based on server capacity. - Chart/Widget Rendering: For complex widgets (charts, mermaid diagrams, interactive elements), widget HTML is sent to our server for rendering and conversion to images. This applies to PDF, Word, and Notion exports. - All basic export formats (Markdown, TXT, JSON, Clipboard) are processed 100% client-side and never leave your device. - Telemetry Metadata: With each server processing request (PDF, Word, Notion), the following non-personal metadata is sent: platform name (e.g., 'ChatGPT'), extension version, language setting, export count, message count, image count, approximate image size, and whether you are a Pro user. This data is used solely for service monitoring, capacity planning, and debugging. 1.3 License Verification: - For Pro users, your email address and license key are stored with our payment provider Lemon Squeezy. License status is verified via api.lemonsqueezy.com. DATA SHARING AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES We share your data with the following third parties only as necessary to provide the Extension's functionality: - Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com): Payment processing and license management. Your payment information is handled by them under their own privacy policy. We receive only your email, order ID, and license key. - Content Processing Server: Operated by the Developer. No third party has access to data processed on this server. - CDN Services (cdn.jsdelivr.net, cdnjs.cloudflare.com): Font resources loaded for document typography. No personal data is sent to these services. - Notion (notion.so): When you use 'Export to Notion', your chat content is sent to Notion's API to create pages in your workspace. This is done under your direction with your own Notion account. We do NOT share data with: advertising platforms, data brokers, information resellers, or any entity for determining credit-worthiness. 4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY - Local Storage: Settings stored via chrome.storage.local remain on your device. They are not transmitted anywhere. - PDF Server: Chat content sent to our server for processing is processed in memory and permanently deleted within seconds after the PDF is generated. We do not write chat content to disk, do not maintain logs of conversation content, and do not retain PDFs after delivery. All data transmission occurs over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) encryption. - License Data: Stored securely by Lemon Squeezy under their security policies. - Notion Cookies: Read in real-time for API authentication. Not cached or persisted by the Extension beyond the browser's native cookie store. 5. DATA RETENTION - Chat content on Server: Deleted immediately (within seconds) after PDF generation. No persistent storage. - Widget rendering data on server: Deleted immediately after image generation. - Telemetry metadata is retained for up to 90 days for service monitoring purposes. No individual user records are kept. - Extension settings: Stored locally on your device until you uninstall the Extension or clear your browser data. - License data: Retained by Lemon Squeezy for the duration of your subscription and as required by their policies. 6. YOUR RIGHTS You have the right to: - Access: Request confirmation of whether we hold any of your data. Given our immediate deletion policy, we typically hold no chat content. - Deletion: Request deletion of any telemetry metadata associated with your account by contacting us at support@xwxexporter.com. - Opt-out: You can use all basic export features (Markdown, TXT, JSON, Clipboard) without any server communication. Server-dependent features (PDF, Word, Notion) are optional and available to Pro users with usage limits; free users can export in basic formats with zero data transmission. - Uninstall: Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored settings. You can also clear your browser's cookies for notion.so to remove authentication data. 7. LIMITED USE DISCLOSURE The Extension's use of user data obtained through the Chrome Web Store complies with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements: - User data is used only for providing or improving the Extension's single purpose (chat export). - User data is NOT transferred to third parties except as described in Section 3 above, solely to provide the Extension's functionality. - User data is NOT used for advertising, marketing, personalization, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension. - Humans do NOT read user data. Server processing is fully automated. 8. REMOTE CODE DISCLOSURE The Extension uses remote server processing for PDF, Word, and Notion generation, and widget rendering. Content is sent to our server via HTTPS, processed, and the result is returned. No executable remote code runs within the Extension itself. The server uses Puppeteer (headless Chromium) for rendering, running in an isolated Docker container with no persistent data storage. 9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY The Extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the Extension, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it. 10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated via the Extension or our website. 11. HOST PERMISSIONS DISCLOSURE The Extension requests the broad host permission (*://*/*) for the following reasons: - The 12+ supported AI platforms use various CDN domains for images (e.g., lh3.googleusercontent.com for Gemini, oaidynamic.com for ChatGPT) that may change without notice. - Image fetching from platform CDNs that do not provide CORS headers requires background service worker access. - This permission does NOT mean the Extension accesses all websites.
